for the future designers out there and you want to design something for print......please please know something about it
google is your best friend if you did not even took a course
CMYK, bleed, crop marks, dpi, PDF.....InDesign.....Pantone colours are good but when you got lots there your client going to get charged so much on print costs, and check what paper your client want it to be printed
cleaned so many......converted, made bleed, retyped, resized, butchered artworks and puzzled them in as took freelance designers from overseas or hard to contact (guess what....unlikely they will hire you again)
templates are good to help you but if you flatten everything with the template then it will go back to you and go back to your work files (if you havent flattened it yourself then back to square 1)
its a tough market and so many designers out there and most are so creative and sometimes inspiring. It really pays to know these stuff and saves you and your client time for some simple matters like this.
Some of your clients could be demanding and stuff but adding these (ie no bleed etc) back at you might not be good unless your really patient. Deadlines are hell like in any other businesses out there. And doesn't look good as to you...a designer for missing parts that is needed for print.
luckily handled a few that goes back and forth
but mainly check if its good for print and if i cant tidy it up in no time its ok (makes me think tho if the designer either missed this part or really dont know) BUT if will take a while then will be charged for my time OR goes back to the designer.
maybe the last one for now is save your files and DONT flatten/merge layers in which you cant edit back
PEACE!
MERRY CHRISTMAS and HAPPY NEW YEAR!
